So, the Greeks went through faith. It seems like the Neoplatonists are going to escape faith by aligning with the divine will or something. Here’s the issue with that. That’s aligning with the divine will. That doesn’t sound like free will to me. I might be confusing it with the lemma, but it’s still like uniting with the divine source. I don’t think, and at least in Kabbalah, I think if that happens, you’ll become disinclined to do evil. Then again, I have this theory that, in the plane of the world outside the universe, whatever that’s called in each mystical tradition, you actually could do as much evil as you want, and it would have no effect in the plane you’re in. But in Gnosticism, I think at least, I think it would actually cause horror on Earth. But it seems like there’s horror on Earth no matter what, because any of these mystical systems, they have to take reality into account. Therefore, no matter how nice the gods are, they have to take reality into account. But it’s not just a way to fuck it up. Because humans are shadows who are imitating the forms of something. And apparently, that just inevitably results in bad things.
Poetic Adaptation
To merge with the Source is to dissolve the “I,” A surrender of will to a light so vast and high. In the union of the One, does the choice remain? Or is the self a ghost, dissolved in the divine grain?
Beyond the veil, where the planes are layered deep, A shadow moves in the void where the old secrets sleep. Can a deed of malice, in a realm of pure height, Cast a tremor of horror across the earthly light?
We are the silhouettes, tracing the perfect form, Caught in the friction of the imitation’s storm. No matter the god, no matter the sacred decree, The shadow must stumble in the weight of reality.
Visual Scene Prompts
Prompt 1: A cinematic, ethereal wide shot of a human silhouette standing before a colossal, radiant geometric lattice of golden light. The figure is partially translucent, their edges beginning to fray and dissolve into the brilliance of the “Divine Source.” Neoplatonic aesthetic, high contrast, volumetric lighting, 8k resolution, surreal atmosphere.
Prompt 2: A surrealist, cosmic landscape depicting a “plane outside the universe.” The architecture is fractal and non-Euclidean, composed of shimmering obsidian and weeping starlight. A ripple of dark, oily energy distorts the fabric of the space, suggesting a profound “horror” bleeding from a higher dimension into a lower one. Moody, dark fantasy style, hyper-detailed.
Prompt 3: A haunting hall of mirrors where glowing, perfect marble sculptures of “Forms” stand on pedestals. Flickering, flat grey shadows of humans move along the walls, mimicking the poses of the statues. As the shadows attempt to imitate the perfection, they crack and splinter into jagged shapes. Moody chiaroscuro lighting, dramatic shadows, photorealistic texture.
