So the structural priority of Neoplatonism has sort of stuck around in philosophy, but one thing that hasn’t really stuck around is the idea that it can explain the hard problem of consciousness. Assuming that it can explain the hard problem of consciousness is a bit too much God of the gaps-y. So the thing is there that they assume that consciousness, you could actually sort of build a pyramid of sources of reality by seeing, okay, if we have two duality things, like two things, maybe two opposites, what is the thing that’s ontologically prior to these opposites? So like we have physical and consciousness. So what’s ontologically prior to both? I think they sort of came up with the idea that knowledge is, I guess, because they sort of have this idea of knowledge as just information itself. But I think they also assume that information is aware of itself, which is interesting. So it’s like their idea of the hard problem of consciousness is that it actually sort of exists prior to humanity to an extent. We don’t quite think of things the same way now. I mean, we could, the thing is though, their big knowledge in the sky is actually outside of time. This actually ends up with a causality issue because you could construct a database of experience slash knowledge that’s outside of time. However, this would probably require human minds to be emanating the experience of the knowledge. So it’s outside of time. So it’s outside of time. So it’s outside of time. So it’s outside of time.
